Hello Silversound Family!

Our first Silversound Spotlight, featuring Kevin Rodela, was a huge success. Thanks so much to everyone who came out or shared out events and content on social media. Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Discord. It’s so great to see that people are excited about all the things we’re doing here at Silversound.
We’re gearing up for some big things in August. Recitals are tentatively slated to resume in August and September. Not only will they be held in our new performance space, but we are also able to record your student’s performance and provide you with a copy to share with friends and family. For more information about recitals, ask your instructor and they will get you signed up.
 
August will also see our second Silversound Spotlight, featuring musician, teacher, promoter and booking agent Wayne Hammerstadt. On Aug. 14 he will discuss his career in music and provide tips to improve improvisation and soloing skills.

Wayne Hammerstadt – August 14th at 1:30pm

Wayne Hammerstadt has been a fixture of the Colorado Springs music scene for 33 years. A guitar teacher, musician, and performer, his career in music has allowed him to share the stage with many regionally and internationally established musicians such as Spencer Davis, Jefferson Starship, Stephen Wolf, BTO, The Outlaws, Eddy Money, Night Ranger, Foghat, Canned Heat, Little River Band and others. Wayne is also a solo classical guitarist with 20 years of professional experience, and his performances range from traditional classical to renaissance, romantic, Spanish and more contemporary genres.

An accomplished musician and performer, Wayne is also a promoter and booking agent. With a perspective from all aspects of the music industry, Wayne will be sharing insider tips and tricks of the trade during his Aug. 14 Silversound Spotlight at 1:30pm. From what booking agents want to see when considering acts to how to best market and promote your band’s next gig, Wayne will share the wisdom he’s gained from decades of experience.

In addition to discussing the ins and outs of the industry, Wayne will also be offering a class on guitar improvisation. Learn how to stretch your playing beyond the limits of go-to pentatonic shapes we all know and love. Wayne’s Silversound Spotlight will be an invaluable resource for guitarists and musicians of all skill levels.
