If you missed our most recent Silversound Spotlight series, this month on June 24th @ 5pm-7pm, Silversound instructor Nathan Whittington will give a class on sound design and audio production. Nathan will guide you through the basic principles of audio production and how to create sounds along with advice on gear and techniques to get your sound down.

Meet Anneliese Soller!
Anneliese Soller - Silversound Guitar

Anneliese Soller is Silversound’s new piano and voice teacher! A graduate of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Anneliese has been involved with music since she was a child. “I grew up in a musical family and discovered my love for singing and music at a young age,” she says. “I was doing recitals and doing dance competitions and then getting involved in high school shows. It was really fun. When I was in high school I was in theater and I sang a lot. I did choir, and then in college, I decided to pursue music.”
For Anneliese, sharing her love of music with youth is the best part of the job. “I really like the idea of being able to work one on one with somebody and seeing the kind of revelations they have about music,” she says. “Especially working with a lot of like seven and eight year-olds, it’s a really unique position to help them get excited about music. I even have a five year-old who comes in and it’s really just about exposing her to music. It’s always a lot of fun to see their eyes light up when you teach them something, and they’re like, ‘Wait, I understand that.’ Or when they start making progress on a song that they’re playing or singing. It’s really cool to see how they get excited about it because that’s how I felt as a kid. It’s really nice that I get to help pass that down to the next generation. I think it’s something really special I get to be a part of.”
Anneliese encourages her students to try new things and have fun with their instrument or voice. “Just don’t be afraid to experiment,” she says. “I think that especially with singing and piano too, is it’s all about just being comfortable and confident in yourself to make sounds that you wouldn’t have ever tried otherwise. My old high school choir teacher used to say this to us and she would say, ‘Music is what keeps us human.’ I really fully believe that, and I think that if we come forward with this experimental mindset, we can really find those things that help keep us human and make us who we are. I think that it’s really great to tell beginners, ‘Hey, don’t be scared to experiment. Make noises that you wouldn’t otherwise make and see what you like, see what you don’t like, and really figure out the ins and outs of your voice and your piano playing.'”
